Another day of painting...IN PROGRESS SHAPED CANVAS- For these works the dynamism of the canvas is as important as the image giving it a sense of movement that reacts with the imagery. Each canvas is taken through a series of hardening steps to create the desired shape. It remains malleable, but stiff and holds its shape. The canvas is then treated to give it a decidedly in-organic, leathery look that contrasts with the natural feel of landscape work. Tension ensues that reminds us that all things nature are fragile and subject to adaptation. DIMENSIONS VARY
